Hi CF,
Another outstanding post.
I was interested in the colour of the 'Bensilah'. It appears to be the same as that of the leatherwork behind the insignia in my collection that you identified as having come from a "Sultans Guard's' ammunition pouch. My pouch insignia as you know is a Gallipoli veteran's item. The 'Lancer's' button that I have shown with it is also a known Gallipoli veteran.
Both these Sultan’s Guard related items having come from Gallipoli makes sense given your above information.

Also here is an example of the two forms of the script that appears on Turk belt buckles. I have long called them the common 'SL' variety and the much less common 'LS' variety. I can not claim that this 'LS' buckle came from Gallipoli though it very well may have.

I also found the unusually high Fez's being worn in your photo interesting.
I have long had a Turk Fez that was souvenired in Palestine by a member of the 7th ALH Regiment. I have always called it a Turk dress Fez.
It is reasonably tall and slightly conical but nowhere near as tall as those in your photos.

I have placed it with an Egyptian Fez souvenired in Cairo by my grandfather when he was there as a member of the 6th Infantry Battalion.

This is the Fez (a little worse for wear) that was identified as being a Turkish soldier's Fez.

Here are the two of them together.

Hi CF.
My grandfather was in Egypt in 1915 and early 1916 before being sent to France with his battalion. The dating of the Egyptian fez to before 1917 is a perfect fit to the story.
Again many thanks for sharing your vast knowledge in this area.
Regards
Rod
PS By the way I still have its tassel but it has come adrift over the years.
