I think a cell (Barry can advise on that?) - the basic layout is set - we just need to work on the details/composition once the mannequin are installed.

The Cassino display is going into on of the cell rooms.
The back drop and display is being sourced now.

Nice, there is plenty of brick and rubble in our urban training complex, do you know how the curators decided on a Cassino scene for their Second World War display?

From what I've been told - there will be more than one WWII display....

In the pipe line are a Malaya/Beorno, Boer war and a Pacific display.
From the uniforms and equipment view the Malaya and Pacific items are almost complete. ( the pacific man is wearing a pair of shorts) and he will be using a ZC1 Mk11(T).

Odd that the Canterbury Regt never served in Malaya/Borneo other than ex/regular force /cadre staff? but am quite excited and looking forward to seeing these displays. I've always wanted to volunteer and advise on their more modern displays when they come around to them.

regards.

Rangi,
There was talk of maybe doing a Timor display. I am sure they would welcome your help.
I think they want to cover something from the period 1964 to current period. The Malaya man could easliy be turned into Vietnam period etc. Displays subject have changed in the past.

Sounds good, a 1999-01 East Timor display can easily be adjusted for the Solomon Is and the later Timor - Leste Operations and I have still got all my maps & bits & pieces inc my orange vest from my time on the city cordons if they ever wish to do a small Christchurch Earthquake display.

regards.

Rangi,
I think it will be a generic Pacific scene.
